NEW - USAV Membership Management System
coaches, chaperones and officials
Welcome coaches, chaperones, and officials to the 2020-2021 USA Volleyball season with the Florida Region. If you have questions pertaining to a USAV membership through SportsEngine, please email the Florida Region at membership@floridavolleyball.org or call (352) 742-0080, M-F 9A-5P.
PURCHASING A MEMBERSHIP
In order to begin the membership purchase process, the member will need to create a free SportsEngine account or login to their existing SportsEngine account (they may already have one through other organizations that use SportsEngine).
Click here for an overview of this process.
There will be a series of questions to determine what type of membership will need to be purchased for the member. When you get to the checkout page, you will see two “transactions” that equal the total membership price. One transaction represents the fees going to the Florida Region and the other represents the fees going to USAV. This is different than in the past. You will still be charged the same amount – you are just going to see an itemized breakdown. You may also see two separate charges (totaling the amount of your membership) on a credit card statement.
After a membership is purchased, you may receive an e-mail outlining the additional steps necessary to become eligible to participate (if required). This can include a background screening, SafeSport training, etc. Your account will also show these requirements.
If a family has multiple members, they can all have their membership information in the same master account, using one set of login credentials called a “family account." This is different than past seasons. In the old system, all individuals had to have their own login.

CLUB INVITATIOn - (only applies to individuals with club affiliation)
When a membership is purchased, members will not have the option of associating with a club at the time of purchase. There are two steps that will need to happen before members are affiliated with a club.
1. Invitation to the club directory - The club the member wishes to affiliate with must add the member to the club's member directory as the first step of the affiliation process. Once the club invites the member to the member directory, the member will receive an email to accept this invite.
2. Invitation to officially affiliate with the club - After the member has been added to the club's member directory, the club will send a second invitation and if the member accepts it, they will then be officially associated with that club for the duration of the season. This process must happen before a player or coach can be placed on a roster. An individual must have a membership before accepting this invitation. If the clubs send an invitation to someone without a current membership, the individual will be directed to purchase a membership before the association will be completed.

BACKGROUND SCREENS
Background screenings will also be a separate purchase, done after your membership purchase is complete. This is different than past seasons. You will automatically receive a link via e-mail to purchase a background screening if you need it. USAV has changed their background screening policy and has increased the cost to members – $30 for two years, which includes a supplemental screening prior to the second season (this cost is not paid to the Florida Region and the Florida Region does not collect any money from background screen charges).
International Background Screens require an additional fee. Should you require an International Background Screening, the background screening organization (NCSI) will reach out to you directly during the membership purchasing process.

SAFESPORT TRAINING
Since you require SafeSport training, the system will send you a link via e-mail to complete the training. The system will automatically load which training is appropriate for you (Core vs. Refresher) and be available in your profile for you to complete.
COMPLETING ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
All individuals will have an eligibility status. An individual who has met all requirements will appear as eligible. Once a membership is purchased, that individual will receive an eligibility email outlining all requirements they need to meet and will clearly see in their account that there are remaining requirements to be met. Eligibility requirements range from SafeSport training, IMPACT training, background screen approval, officiating courses, and completion of waivers.
