USAV Membership Management System (MMS)
Club Directors AND Club Admins
Welcome club directors and club admins to the 2022-2023 USA Volleyball season with the Florida Region. If you have questions pertaining to a USAV membership through SportsEngine, please email the Florida Region at [email protected] or call (352) 742-0080, M-F 9A-5P.
PURCHASING A MEMBERSHIP
In order to begin the membership purchase process, the athlete/member will need to create a free SportsEngine account or login to their existing SportsEngine account (they may already have one through other organizations that use SportsEngine).
Click here for an overview of this process.
There will be a series of questions to determine what type of membership will need to be purchased for the member. When you get to the checkout page, you will see two “transactions” that equal the total membership price. One transaction represents the fees going to the Florida Region and the other represents the fees going to USAV. You will still be charged the same amount – you are just going to see an itemized breakdown. You may also see two separate charges (totaling the amount of your membership) on a credit card statement.
After a membership is purchased, you may receive an e-mail outlining the additional steps necessary to become eligible to participate (if required). This can include a background screening, SafeSport training, etc. Your account will also show these requirements.
If a family has multiple members, they can all have their membership information in the same master account, using one set of login credentials called a “family account."

CLUB INVITATION/AFFILIATION - New process
When a membership is purchased, members will not have the option of associating with a club at the time of purchase. There are two ways to affiliate members of a club.
1. Public request - Anyone with the link is able to purchase a membership and be assigned to your club. Participants do not need to be a member of your directory.
2. Direct request - A member must be in your directory. This allows you to have more control over who is invited and allows you to view/revoke invitations as needed.
For help please view: Membership Purchase & Club Assignment
ATHLETES WILL ONLY AGREE TO COMMIT TO ONE CLUB FOR THE FULL SEASON!
Athletes will agree during the membership purchase process that once they accept a club invitation, they are committing to that club for the entire season.
Once an athlete has participated in a regional or national qualifying/bid event, athlete transfers/releases are bound by the transfer/release rules of the Girls’ Junior National Qualifier/Spring Championships/Championships or the Boys’ Junior National Bid/Championships manuals. Please refer to the respective manual of the events above for further clarification.

COMPLETING ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
Once your participants purchase their membership, they may still have eligibility requirements to complete. You can remind your club’s coaches and athletes about requirements through HQ at any time. Eligibility requirements can be accessed through a member’s SportsEngine account.
All individuals will have an eligibility status. An individual who has met all requirements will appear as eligible. Once a membership is purchased, that individual will receive an eligibility email outlining all requirements they need to meet and will clearly see in their account that there are remaining requirements to be met. Eligibility requirements range from SafeSport training, IMPACT training, background screen approval, officiating courses, and completion of waivers.

Background screens
Background screenings will also be a separate purchase, done after your membership purchase is complete. This is different than past seasons. You will automatically receive a link via e-mail to purchase a background screening if you need it. USAV has changed their background screening policy and has increased the cost to members – $14 for a year (this cost is not paid to the Florida Region and the Florida Region does not collect any money from background screen charges).
International Background Screens require an additional fee. Should you require an International Background Screening, the background screening organization (NCSI) will reach out to you directly during the membership purchasing process.

safesport training
Since you require SafeSport training, the system will send you a link via e-mail to complete the training. The system will automatically load which training is appropriate for you (Core vs. Refresher) and be available in your profile for you to complete. Junior athletes who are 18, or who will turn 18 during the season, will register for a membership that automatically enrolls them in SafeSport.
USAV ACADEMY/ JUNIOR OFFICIATING COURSES
In the new system, the Jr. Officiating Courses that an athlete is required to take will be automatically uploaded into their SportsEngine Profile. Click this link for more information about the courses and requirements for each member.
Club ADMINs
Clubs will have the ability to designate admins within their SportsEngine HQ to help manage memberships and rosters (similar to the “Club Admin” functionality in Webpoint). All admins in SportsEngine must be USAV members, background screened, and SafeSport trained. USAV and the Florida Region will be monitoring compliance with this policy.
MEMBER DIRECTORY
The member directory is a free tool your club has access to within SportsEngine HQ. Although the name is tricky, this area isn’t just for individuals with a purchased membership. This area is more like a phone book of individuals that have interacted with your club. If you use any of SportsEngine’s other tools, you may have individuals already in your directory (ex: you use SportsEngine registration tools or a SportsEngine website).
Individuals can be added to your member directory manually by entering information on an individual or through a file upload. Individuals will need to be in your directory before you can complete other tasks like club association. You can also use the directory to create groups of people and easily message them from within the system.
