FLORIDA REGION AWARD DESCRIPTIONS
Outstanding Adult Referee (Ben Jordan Golden Whistle Award)
This award is presented to a Florida Region adult official who has been recognized by their peers as an outstanding individual. This person typically displays a high level of professionalism on and off the court, has extensive knowledge of the game and rules, and is of utmost moral character.
Outstanding Junior Referee (Ashley Morrison Award)
This award is presented to an outstanding Florida Region junior referee who has been recognized by his or her teammates, coaches and/or adult officials. This person will have completed all of the necessary officiating certification required by USA Volleyball and will display a very high knowledge of the game and rules.
Outstanding Junior Scorekeeper
This award is presented to an outstanding Florida Region junior scorekeeper who has been recognized by his or her teammates, coaches and/or adult officials. This person will have completed all of the necessary officiating certification required by USA Volleyball and will display a very high knowledge of the game and rules.
Outstanding Junior Officiating Team
This award is presented to an outstanding Florida Region junior officiating team who has been recognized by their teammates, coaches and/or adult officials. All of the individuals on this team will have completed all of the necessary officiating certification required by USA Volleyball and will display a very high knowledge of the game and rules.
Most Improved Juniors Club
This award is presented to a Florida Region indoor or outdoor club that has shown a significant improvement in both the regional and/or national ranking system among their team(s.) This club must also be in good standing with the Florida Region, must not have any derogatory marks or disciplinary action against them, and must have followed all necessary protocols, guidelines and requirements in order to retain their status.
Outstanding Male & Female Coach
This award is presented to a Florida Region indoor or outdoor coach who finished the highest at the USAV Jr. National Championships the previous season. This person will also have a very extensive knowledge of the game, have extraordinary coaching skills and strategy, and be of utmost moral character.
Outstanding Club Director
This award is presented to a Florida Region indoor or outdoor club director who led their club with distinction and had the highest percentage of year-over-year membership growth. This person will display leadership, integrity and overall dedication to the growth of their club, their athletes and the sport. This person will also run their club in a very efficient manner, and will create a very welcoming and positive environment for our Florida Region members.
Outstanding Parent Award
This award is presented to a Florida Region parent for their exemplary support to a club or team during the season. The hallmark of this award recipient is that they consistently go above and beyond to set the highest standards of service for other parents across the Region to emulate. They serve selflessly to make the club or team an enjoyable experience for all participants.
Outstanding Service Award
This award is presented to a Florida Region member who has been involved in an act or acts of service which greatly benefited the Region, its members and the overall goal of growing the sport. This person may have volunteered their time or resources in any capacity which is deserving of recognition.
Extra Mile Award
This award is presented to a Florida Region member who has went the extra mile in order to benefit the Region, its members and the overall goal of growing the sport. This person could have contributed one act or continues to contribute year after year.
Meritorious Service Award
This award is presented to a Florida Region member who has continuously displayed acts of service to the Region over an extended period of time. This person deserves to be recognized for their selfless contributions to both the members and the overall goal of growing the sport.
Bruce Perry Volleyball Ambassador Award
This award is presented to a Florida Region member who embodies the spirit of volleyball and has gone to great lengths to grow the sport. This person has dedicated a majority of their time and efforts to enhancing the sport in the Florida Region, and is well-respected and revered in the volleyball community.
Ernest Langford Pioneer Award
This award is presented to a Florida Region member who has embarked on a new initiative or program that has contributed to the growth of the sport and to the overarching goals of the Region. This person will be considered a trailblazer among their peers and will have contributed a new innovation to enhance the Region.
Florida Region Hall of Fame Inductee
The Florida Region Hall of Fame consists of the men and women who have contributed to the Region and the sport in a significant amount of ways throughout the course of their volleyball careers. The new inductees are well-respected and revered in the volleyball community and have made significant contributions to the Florida Region family.
