JUNIOR ADVANCED LEVEL OFFICIATING PROGRAM
JUNIOR ADVANCED LEVEL OFFICIATING PROGRAM DEFINITION
Do you actually look forward to your team's work assignments at a tournament? Do you consider yourself one of the best second referee or scorers around? Maybe you would like to work as a paid referee when you are old enough. If so, you may wish to become certified as a Junior 2nd Referee and/or Junior Scorer.
The basic level online scorer and second referee training is the Qualified level. This would be FL19_103 and FL19_104 courses. Scorers and second referees who have completed the Qualified level online training may perform those duties at any USAV sanctioned event that utilizes players for the officiating crew. Those who wish to move on to the higher Advanced level must complete the more in-depth training on line, courses FL19_105 and FL19_106. Once play begins for the season, complete the Print the form(s) below, and ask the first referee on your officiating matches to fill it out for you as you work tournaments during the season. When the form is completed, send it as indicated on the form. A member of the Florida Region Rating Team or one of our National Scorers will be assigned to watch you work before you will be eligible to receive your certification package.
Note: The certification package includes the following:
-Jr. Referee: patch, pin, whistle, lanyard, red & yellow cards.
-Jr. Scorekeeper: patch, pin, pen, pencil, and ruler

JUNIOR ADVANCED REFEREE AND SCORER LEVEL OFFICIATING TEAM BENEFITS
If a team has a Advanced Junior Scorer* working as the scorer AND an Advanced Junior Second Referee* working as the R2, the requirement for an adult to be working at one of the work team positions is waived. The rostered adult would still need to be courtside. The Scorer and R2 must display proof of certification to the first referee for the match in order for the waiver to apply. This would include the card or patch they were given when they were certified. If the proof cannot be displayed courtside before the match begins, the requirement is not waived. For more information on Advanced Junior Officials ratings, click here.
*Advanced Junior Scorers and Advanced Junior Second Referees are those individuals which have already received their required number of reviews & signatures from various referees/scorers throughout the season AND have already successfully completed their formal evaluation (received their patch and certification card) at a Florida Region Sanctioned tournament.
If you have any questions regarding these procedures, please contact the Florida Region Officials Chair, Darin Clark , Scoring Representative Vickie Hinkle, or the Officials Coordinator, Sue Wainio at sue@floridavolleyball.org.
